The New Hampshire Film and Television Office is now accepting submissions for the 2010 New Hampshire High School Short Film Festival.
Designed to foster and reward interest in filmmaking for future members of the industry, the NH High School Short Film Festival is open to students currently enrolled in grades 9-12 at New Hampshire public or private high schools. Submissions do not have to have been created as part of a school project.
In addition to providing students with a public venue for showing their work, the Festival is also a great way for students to build their resumes and make their college applications stand out.
A panel of judges made up of New Hampshire film industry professionals will review all submissions and then select films to be shown at the Festival itself, which takes place at New Hampshire Technical Institute’s Sweeney Hall Auditorium in Concord on May 15, 2010, beginning at noon.
Films that win the Jury Award, which is selected by the judging panel, and the Audience Award, which is selected by those attending the Festival, will be screened at Red River Theatres in summer 2010 and on NH Day at the NH Film Festival in October 2010.
All submissions must be postmarked on or before March 31, 2010, or arrive at the State Library in Concord by 4 p.m. on that date. Rules and guidelines, film submission forms and other festival information about the NH High School Short Film Festival can be found online at www.nhstudentfilm.com.
