Concord Community TV announces appointment of Executive Director

The Concord Community TV (ConcordTV) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Doris Ballard to the position of Executive Director effective mid October, 2010.

Ballard has more than 25 years of management experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors, and 10 years experience in Public Access Television, most recently as ConcordTV's Community Facilitator. She serves on the Board of the Alliance for Community Media-Northeast Region (ACM-NE), and the New Hampshire Coalition for Community Media (NHCCM). Ballard has also served the Concord community in several other capacities for over 30 years.

Ballard has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Franklin Pierce College, and Masters degree in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.

"ConcordTV is extremely pleased to have Ms. Ballard as our new Executive Director," says Joanne Martin, chair of the Board of Directors. "She was selected from an impressive list of dozens of candidates, each with high levels of experience and credentials. However, it was Ballard's vision for the future of ConcordTV to continue developing the station as a vibrant community media center, as well as her diverse skills in communications, development, production, and nonprofit management, and her knowledge of and long term connection with the community that made her the best choice to lead the organization at this time."

Concord Community TV was formed as a 501c-3 nonprofit in 1999. Located in Concord High School, the station manages Concord's local community cable channels: Public Access channel 22, Government channel17 and Education channel 6. The station provides the tools, training and transmission to Concord's residential and nonprofit community, providing public interest, cultural, educational, and government content broadcast over local cable television.
