The Manhattan Short finalists hail from eight countries, with France and Australia represented by two films each. These short films represent the best among a record 844 submissions from 52 countries. All of the Final 10 are Oscar-qualified, meaning they are automatically eligible for an Academy Award nomination. (One of last year’s top vote-getters in the Manhattan Short competition, the Chilean film Bear Story, went on to win the Oscar for Best Animated Short.)
There will be four screenings at NHTI: Friday Sept 30th at 7 pm, Saturday Oct 1st at 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday Oct 2nd at 2 pm, all in Sweeney Auditorium. Tickets are $10 (free for NHTI students).
