NHTI Hosts Manhattan Short Film Festival

Friday September 30th through Sunday October 2nd, NHTI, Concord’s Community College will join venues around the globe in hosting the 19th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival – a worldwide competition to select the best short films of 2016.  Throughout the week, theaters in over 250 cinemas across six continents will be screening the ten finalists in this year-long competition.  Every viewer will have the opportunity to rate the ten films, and all votes count towards choosing the winner.

The Manhattan Short finalists hail from eight countries, with France and Australia represented by two films each.  These short films represent the best among a record 844 submissions from 52 countries. All of the Final 10 are Oscar-qualified, meaning they are automatically eligible for an Academy Award nomination.  (One of last year’s top vote-getters in the Manhattan Short competition, the Chilean film Bear Story, went on to win the Oscar for Best Animated Short.)

There will be four screenings at NHTI:  Friday Sept 30th at 7 pm, Saturday Oct 1st at 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday Oct 2nd at 2 pm, all in Sweeney Auditorium. Tickets are $10 (free for NHTI students).
